FRP Grating

FRP Grating (Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic) is also known as glass reinforced plastic grating or fiberglass grating. One of the main advantages FRP Grating has over steel is that FRP simply WILL NOT RUST. That’s why you frequently see FRP used around saltwater for walkways, docks, and hand rails. FRP Grating looks so much like steel, so you may have seen FRP at a marina and not even know it. FRP is a structural product that can be weight bearing between spans.

Application:

Fiberglass grating is rustproof, slip-resistant, lightweight and easy to install. It combines corrosion resistance with strength, long life and safety for reliable service in harsh or caustic environments where carbon or stainless steel is not suitable (chemical processing, refining, offshore, pulp and paper, food and beverage, marine, water and wastewater treatment, electronics, plating and electro-isolated flooring).

Fiberglass grating panels are common in many construction situations, especially as vehicles and foot traffic move across different types of surfaces or elevations. These fiberglass grating panels are able to withstand very heavy loads and can be reinforced through bonding to bearing and cross bars, so that it will stand up throughout the entire construction project, oil well drilling or testing for new chemical applications.

Chlorine doesn’t hurt FRP either, so we use it in swimming pools and waterparks in to build stairs, railing, and drainage areas. Polyester resin FRP is standard and fire retardant.
